CrisisCode Project

A group of Los Angeles, CA, CrisisCamp members is building an app to bring NGOs and volunteers together in to quickly and efficiently provide crisis-based aid using a common web-based platform. At a high level, the NGOs will provide a description of their need, e.g. central website to post messages for friends and family, posting these on a centralized website for volunteers to find and select to work on. Volunteer project managers will lead each project and handle communication between NGO and project teams to ensure the project requirements are adequately described and resources assigned, then take the project to completion.

What makes this different from VolunteerMatch.org and other sites?

  • Crisis orientation: We respond to international emergencies that come about unexpectedly that require immediate, rapid response.
  • Our teams are IT oriented, able to meet the needs of projects that need programmers, graphic designers, and like personnel.
